Meet the Team

Anthony has over 37 years’ Human Resources experience and has held various senior level Human Resources roles in both the Public and Private Sectors. Anthony is a highly experienced ‘generalist’ with across the board expertise in both strategic and operational HR activities including Employee Engagement, Talent Management, Organisational Development & Design and Learning & Development. Initially, Anthony spent 15 years gaining HR knowledge and experience in the public sector, working for Bolton, Trafford and Oldham Metropolitan Borough Councils before moving to Manchester United Football Club Limited in 1997. At Manchester United, he built the HR function profile and HR team from ’scratch’ to where it is today, spending over 22 years’ with the Club before leaving at the end of August 2019 to set up his own HR consultancy company. In his time at the Club, he has had the opportunity to deal with some very high profile individuals and has required him to deal with some highly sensitive and confidential people issues. Anthony also has over 7 years’ experience as a voluntary Non-Executive Director on the Manchester County FA Board.

Anthony has a down to earth approach with excellent people management, leadership, business relationship building and influencing skills. This approach as been essential in his effective and efficient dealing with the people side of such a high profile sporting organisation.
