The recent Sunday Times ‘Good University Guide 2023’ ranks all UK universities in a performance league table, Oxford heading that list as we move to 2023, see article here.

Intersol Global is privileged to have supported 6 of the Top 10 UK universities with externally impartial investigation services since entering this sector in 2018.

Furthermore, we have delivered investigation support and services to 25% of the top 100 universities in the UK, supporting them to deliver on the Office for Students’ expectations.

“We thought we knew what an investigation was, and how to conduct and manage one. This training shone a light on the lack of training we’d had, it really made me reflect on some of the investigations I’d managed and how they could have been improved. Thank you” – HR Manager

Those services have seen the Intersol team train over 1000 HE staff to better investigate workplace and campus ‘issues’ and conduct over 100 serious and complex misconduct investigations. That experience has enabled significant learning to better inform responses to reports of misconduct and improve support for all parties.

Universities have traveled a significant journey since the 2016 Pinsent Mason guidance on investigating serious sexual misconduct. Whilst the journey is incomplete, many institutions should be congratulated on their commitment and endeavor to tackle all forms of impropriety and misconduct that impact detrimentally on the lives, careers, and well-being of all HE stakeholders.
